HR Performance Insights: Unveiling Organizational Dynamics

Human Resources

This is an example of a Human Resources (HR) dashboard that allows HR teams to track, analyse and report HR KPIs. This enables HR teams to quickly find information that improves recruitment, optimizes workplace management and improves employee performance.

In a first step, a data cleaning and transformation was performed in MySQL, in order to solve and fix incorrectly formatted data. In a second step, also in MySQL was made an initial analysis and division of data into different tables. Finally, using the tables exported from MySQL, a report was made in Power BI.

This report allows easily verifies information about gender, age, and job title, but also about the average number of years of contract per department, as well as the variation of the number of employees over the years.

GOAL

The main purpose of this analysis is to measure the impact that several HR metrics have on the company's overall performance, and therefore make decisions based on the analyzed data.

  • What is the gender breakdown of employees in the company?

  • What is the age distribution of employees in the company?

  • How many employees work at headquarters versus remote locations?

  • What is the distribution of employees across locations?

  • What is the distribution of departments and job titles across the company?

  • How has the company's employee count changed over time?

  • What is the average length of employment?

RESULT

The human resource analysis performed allows analysing a series of KPIs of a company's human resources and in this way quickly find information that improves recruitment and candidate experience. In general, it can be seen that the company has a very young range of employees, where the majority are males. In addition, most of the workers work on an on-site basis in the state of Ohio. With these results, the company can take recruitment measures such as prioritizing the hiring of women, in order to equalize the company's gender, as well as studying strategies to distribute its employees to different states, in order to uniform the distribution of workers among the company's different locations. In conclusion, and taking into account the analysis of the department, job title and years of the contract, recruitment measures can be taken for specific positions.
