The dashboard below is an example focused on consulting for a company that pretend brought out a new game app. Different aspects such as price, the number of reviews and installations, the app genre and the content rating were analyzed to give the most important insights in order to make the right decision. 

 

This dashboard is made in an interactive way so that by applying filters, one can analyze different graphs and immediately make the appropriate decisions. 

GOAL

The purpose of this analysis is to understand which features are needed for the new app in the GAME section taking into account the most downloaded apps for Android.

  • What is the average price of apps?

  • What is the app's price distribution?

  • How does content rating affect app metrics? 

  • Which genre attracts the most consumers, that is, which has the most installations and reviews?

RESULT

Given the analysis results, the new app should fit into the following fields:

  • Type: Paid;

  • Price: <$4.99;

  • Content rating: Everyone 10+;

  • Genre: Arcade or Action.

INSIGHTS 

 

There are 1144 apps in the GAME section, out of which 1061 are free and 83 are paid.

 

The average price for paid apps in this section is $3.46.

The maximum and minimum price for paid apps is $17.99 and $0.99, respectively.

There are only 3 apps priced above $10.

 

More than 30% of paid apps have a price of $0.99.

There are more apps for everyone, followed by teens.

Apps with age restrictions are scarcer (<20%).

The 6 apps with more than 1,000,000,000 installs fall into the everyone 10+ category.

 

For paid apps, Action is the genre that contains more than 50% of the total number of reviews.

Arcade is the only application genre with more than 1,000,000,000 installations.
