Journey to Immunity: Mapping COVID-19 Vaccination Worldwide
Health Care
The dashboard below is an example focused on health care. It is a COVID-19 vaccine tracker to track how the vaccination program is performing worldwide. Apart from analyzing the number of people fully, partially or not vaccinated, one can also look at how the administration of vaccine doses occurred over time as well as the influence of GDP on vaccination.
The interactive dashboard can be used to look at different charts, apply various filters like location or date, and capture valuable information in an easy way, in order to know how the vaccination program is going on all over the world.
GOAL
The purpose of this analysis is to find out how the vaccination program is being conducted globally.
-
What share of the population has been partly or fully vaccinated against COVID-19?
-
What share of people have at least one dose against COVID-19?
-
How does GDP per capita affect vaccinations?
-
How many daily doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered over time?
RESULT
Given the results, it can be noted that the COVID-19 vaccine has been satisfactorily accepted by the majority of countries, with only about 30% of the world's population not receiving any dose.
Portugal, Cuba, Macao, Mauritius and the Pitcairn Islands are the respective countries in the different continents with the highest rate of vaccinated population.
INSIGHTS
70% of the world population has received at least one dose of a
COVID-19 vaccine.
13 billion doses have been administered globally.
Portugal is the European country with the highest number of vaccinated people.
Africa is the continent with the highest percentage of not vaccinated people (>60%).
There is a logarithmic relationship between the number of people vaccinated per hundred and the GDP per capita.
Macao is the country with the second highest vaccination rate (97.77%), however, it is also the one with the highest GDP per capita.
The largest number of vaccines administrated occurred between May 2021 and May 2022.
Nowadays, the number of vaccines administered has declined substantially. In 2023, the highest peak occurred on January 2, and it was less than 9M.
